The little mermaid falls in love with a prince, but, in order to gain his heart, she has to become human. So she makes a deal with the sea witch, a quite unfair one. The witch will give her a potion that gives her legs, but in exchange, she has to lose her beautiful voice; drinking the potion will make her feel like she’s swallowing a sword, and walking on her feet will feel like walking on sharp knives. But, if the prince does not love her and falls in love with another woman, her heart will shatter and she’ll have to go to the sea to die, and turn into foam like the other mermaids.

And that’s how the story ends: she gives away everything she has for the prince (who has no idea), but he just can’t love her as much as she does, so he marries another woman. The little mermaid dies and her body dissolves into sea foam. Ta-dah.

I wish i was a mermaid. Becoming foam is much better that just a burnt ugly scar.
